From Burnout to Engaged & Energised

How to prevent stress and burnout to prevent decreased performance and reduced productivity.

Behavioural economics studies prove that the effects of chronic job stressors on individuals lead to burnout. This is not only damaging to their health but also lowers their levels of performance at work and ultimately translates into reduced profitability of companies.

Most of the studies, such as The Impact of Stress and Burnout on Employees’ Performance at Botswana Power Corporation, also prove that the majority of employees feel that their main source of stress is their job environment. In fact, in this particular study by P.K. Jankome, M. Mangoriand and G. Rit, no less than 63% of respondents stated their job environment was their key stressor.

Most authors of these kinds of studies also point out that there are two kinds of stress, which are referred to as eustress and distress. Eustress is a constructive type of stress that will encourage employees to perform better. Distress on the other hand, is a destructive type of stress that is detrimental to both employees and their companies.

An important factor for companies to take note of is that the personalities of individuals have a direct influence on the way they respond to stressors. Our From Burnout to Engaged & Energised course will:

  • Empower your employees to understand themselves and others better.
  • Teach them how to manage negative stressors and leverage positive stressors.
