How to be Proactive
Groovy Green hates making decisions – it comes with the temperament… He or she is a master procrastinator and good at passing on the decision-making buck. Feeling unworthy and not ‘good enough’, clever enough or competent enough to make any decision, is almost a natural reaction for our Green brothers and sisters.
They are sensitive and intuitive by nature and are easily burdened by feelings of inferiority. To aggravate this condition, they often marry a domineering Red person who breaks them down and adds to their insecurity.
What Green easily overlooks, is that their power lies in their knowledge of people. They are naturally attuned to people’s strengths and weaknesses and this could empower them to make the right decisions. If only they could believe in themselves!
They often have insight into a problem but are scared or disinterested to share the information, simply because they do not want to become involved. They therefore would not put up a hand or speak out, even while it is crystal clear to them that the others are blundering on a grand scale.
Once Groovy Greens could get to know themselves better, trust their emotional intelligence and value their sensitivity as a skill and not a handicap, they could become proactive and make a valuable contribution to any team.
They also need to come out of their hiding place, step out of their comfort zone and become who they were created to be: clever, wise problem solvers who would not dream of harming people in the process.
