One of the hardest things in life to accept is the fact that life is difficult. We want life to be easy, and problem free without hurt and sickness and trauma. That’s only possible in a perfect world, and we are not living in a perfect world and neither can any human claim to be perfect.
The extraordinary thing is, the moment you accept that life is hard, and therefore, don’t expect everything to be plain sailing and easy, life sort of cut your some slack and it feels like it gets easier.
You are experiencing it as being easier because your perception and expectation about life change when you accept that it is inherently imperfect and difficult.
Despite the fact that life is difficult and challenging there are some things you can do to be happier with life in general and your own life in particular.
7 Happiness tips
1. Design your own life.
You are the architect of your own life. It’s not your parents, life partner, children, or even the government’s responsibility or job to manage your life. You are living it, therefore you should own it and be responsible for it. #YourLife #Your Gift
2. Ignore what people say about you
People gossip. That’s what people do. Some people don’t like it when others are happy, but that is their problem, not yours. Know your own strong and weak points. Know yourself and don’t be afraid to be whoever you were created to be. #KnowYourself #LiveYourDream
3. Look for the good in every situation
You will be surprised how you can find the beautiful, the compassionate, the kind-hearted, and the comradery in the most difficult and traumatic of situations. #BeautyInEverything #FriendsHelp
4. Develop an attitude of gratitude
There is always something to be grateful for. The strange thing about thankfulness is it tends to expand quickly. The more things you are thankful for, the more things pop up to be thankful for. #JustThankYou #ImGrateful
5. Once it’s past, let it go
If you live in the past, you get depressed. If you live in the future, you get anxiety. The only place where you can find true happiness is in the present. Now is what count. If something happened, it happened. You can’t change it, but you can forgive and let go. #MoveOn #AllWeHaveIsNow
6. Don’t listen to gossip
Just as you shouldn’t listen to what others are saying about you, you shouldn’t listen to what they are saying about other people. Stories starting with “oh, did you hear…” and “you will never believe it, but…” usually consists of a lot of assumptions and no truths. If you really want to know something about someone, ask them yourself. If you feel like you can’t ask them, then the answer is probably none of your business anyways. #StickWithTruth #KnowYourSources
7. Laugh more
Laugh because it’s good for you. Laugh because life is difficult by nature, but we are the ones taking it way too seriously. Laughter and smiling are just as contagious as the measles and far less life-threatening. #JustSmile #LaughMore
