Seedlings
Seedlings, a non-profit co-founded by Lynette Beer, Alicia Keyser, and Urma Coetzer, nurtures the identity in Christ of disadvantaged primary school learners while addressing their basic needs.
SHARING THE GOSPEL
Seedlings reaches out to children in South Africa who haven’t experienced the gospel, offering them the joy and security of knowing they are cherished by Jesus Christ.
FOSTERING BELONGING
Seedlings reinforces learners' Christian identities by giving out "I am a child of God" badges and laminated rosters, helping thousands proudly display their faith.
ENHANCHING DIGNITY
Seedlings collaborates with schools and charities to meet the vital needs of disadvantaged children, providing essential support and fostering dignity.
Actively Sharing God's Love
If you have concerns about the integrity of charitable organizations or how your contributions are used, or if you simply want to make a positive impact, Seedlings offers you the chance to donate or get involved directly. Whether you can offer time, ideas, goods, or funds, your involvement can significantly shape a child’s future.
Children lacking a firm understanding of their identity in Christ often struggle to develop fully, both physically and emotionally. Regular affirmations of God’s love are crucial for inspiring them to dream, maintain hope, and make life-affirming choices.
Many children feel abandoned and worthless, burdened with fear and hunger, and left to navigate life’s challenges alone. Without proper guidance, they often make desperate choices that limit their future possibilities. Seedlings aims to intervene by establishing a sense of identity and providing life skills.
The lack of basic necessities like food and hygiene products can deeply affect self-esteem, while homes without Bibles or devotional books miss vital sources of inspiration. Seedlings strives to meet these physical needs to restore hope and open up opportunities for a brighter future.

Faith & Community
Lynette Beer, renowned across South Africa for her inspirational speaking on personal and corporate development, extends her expertise to diverse realms including businesses, charities, schools, and churches. She excels in motivating individuals to unleash their potential while equipping them with practical life skills, delivered with her distinctive humor. Lynette’s work predominantly focuses on enriching relationships, with Seedlings serving as a platform to deepen the fundamental connection with God.
Her colleague, Alicia Keyser, shares this devotion but with a special emphasis on guiding primary school learners towards spiritual growth and practical self-realization. Alicia, supported by Urma Coetzer, who is dedicated to providing essential care to needy children and their families through nourishment and supplies, works tirelessly towards these goals. Despite their full-time professional and personal commitments, Alicia and Urma are driven by a vision to expand their reach, trusting in divine support to bring more helpers into their mission to assist more children.
How Can You Help a Child?
Wondering How You Can Help a Child Reach Their Full Potential?
Raising a child requires a community, yet just one child who rises above challenges can disrupt a cycle of poverty. Simple gestures—like providing a teenager with basic hygiene products—can boost their confidence, encouraging regular school attendance, which has been shown to improve academic performance. Clean clothes and haircuts have also been linked to higher academic achievement in schools.
Seedlings has faced challenges, including disruptions from Covid-19, but we’re back, and the need is greater than ever.Â
