Lynette's Story
Every day you have the power to change your story. This truth lies at the heart of ours.
The beginning of our story is interweaved with that of Lynette Beer, who is inspired to best use her talents and fulfil her life purpose through helping people to unlock their potential, discover their vocations and strengthen their relationships.
The Beginning
Merinda Lynette Beer grew up in the Eastern Cape, in Kariega when it was still known as Uitenhage, and later in Despatch. The Beer household was a busy one with three brothers and their sister and a hard working dad.
Mother Beer was the loving heart of the home and her skills in taking care of her family taught Lynette much about life and relationships. She is a source of inspiration for Lynette with many of her wise sayings forming the basis of sermons, chapters in books and blogs. She is also her daughter’s role model in how to love the Lord in all that you say and do.
Academic and sport achievements, as well as love were abundant in Lynette’s childhood, but money was not. Still, after matriculating Lynette’s dream to study theology came true thanks to the generosity of people who made a lasting impact on her and are still mentioned in her writings and talks.
She worked in a congregation for four years, making a difference amongst especially the youth. She and her old, brown Volkswagen Passat are still remembered fondly even though a couple of decades have passed. But the corporate world beckoned and Lynette achieved her other childhood dream of never having to struggle financially.
The Watershed Moment
However, for many years, Lynette struggled to form truly meaningful personal connections and was unhappy with her life in general. On a professional level, she found it exceptionally challenging to collaborate with others in the workplace, which in turn led to stress and anxiety, as well as a sense of inadequacy and lack of fulfillment.
For Lynette, a watershed moment occurred when she realised that at the core of almost every single human issue, lies complicated relationships.
To be content personally, and to be successful professionally, you must firstly have a healthy relationship with yourself, and secondly, have the ability to develop symbiotic relationships with others. And to accomplish the latter, requires a solid understanding of self and others.
With this realisation in mind, Lynette set out to demystify and simplify the dynamics of relationships. In the process, she discovered a proto-psychological theory formulated by ancient Greek philosophers that suggests that all people can be classified into four fundamental personality types.
Based on this theory, she ideated the Four Colour Temperament Model© that is simple enough for anyone to understand and easy to incorporate in daily life and work practices.
Award-Winning Results
Lynette then implemented this Four Colour Temperament Model© at the company where she worked as marketing director at the time. The results were simply astounding. The company’s turnover no less than tripled within three years from R25 million to R63 million to R74 million.
This earned Lynette an Award for the Most Innovative and Successful Business Concept in 2007. Soon after, she was also invited to present the concept in London, Dubai and Times Square, New York. Subsequently, the model became an internationally recognised human behavioural model, and Lynette was positioned as a global thought leader in the field of human behaviour.
Lynette was both humbled and overwhelmed by the tangible and life-changing impact of implementing her Four Colour Temperament Model© in her own life, as well as at work.
Then, she asked herself a question that altered the course of her life thereafter, irrevocably: “Imagine the wave of change we could set in motion, if we taught this concept to as many people and companies as possible?” She then walked away from her two-decade plus cushy corporate existence to do just that, and, as they say: “The rest is history.”

The Dawn of
Seeds of Inspiration
The name Seeds of Inspiration was born from one of Lynette’s aha-moments. That moment when she grasped that every word we utter, has the potential to plant one of two seeds which she refers to as “the two e’s that either empower or eradicate.”
Naturally, to know how to empower people, you must understand them, which forms the very basis of our Four Colour Temperament Model© and all our teachings.
To start her business and become a motivational speaker and author was truly a calling. As her mother taught her, Lynette listened to the soft voice whispering in her ear amidst all her worldly success. Leaving behind financial security she finally had peace in her heart, knowing she was obedient to her vocation.
One of the ways in which Lynette could reach the maximum people and create optimal impact, is through writing books. Today, Lynette is a renowned published author with a myriad of top-selling self-help books that are all essentially aimed at empowering people to step into the highest versions of themselves and inspire greatness in others.
She has mastered the art of self-publication and also collaborated with Carpe Diem Media in publishing titles such as Lewe in volkleur and Live life in full colour. She regularly appears on Voelgoed Live and in Finesse Voelgoedtydskrif. She is also a well-known voice on RSG, RadioKansel and GrootFM.
The Master of Many Trades
William Ellery Channing captured it best when he said: “It is greater work to educate a child in the true and larger sense of the world, than to rule a state.” And so associations of Seeds of Inspiration include:
For all her business acumen, in 2016 Lynette received the South African Council of Business Women Amidst Presidential Award.
Alongside all her writing and entrepreneurial skills, Lynette is also one of South Africa’s most inspiring motivational speakers. She has never lost her passion for relationships and focuses on many topics all aimed at building bridges between people and also building the revenue of companies and businesses.
She finds her greatest joy – and her biggest challenge – in connecting with people. Those who work with her on a professional level soon become her friends and her friends become like family.
Even though she embraces all forms of technology to get her message across in podcasts, e-books, webinars et cetera, a real life hug in real time from this warm, intelligent and dynamic woman is still her greatest gift to all who meet her.
