Stress is a normal part of life. It is the body’s reaction to any change that requires an adjustment or response. The body reacts to these changes with physical, mental, and emotional responses.  
 
In physics, stress describes the force that produces strain on a physical body – for example, when a piece of metal is bent, it is the force, or stress, exerted on it, which ultimately makes it snap. But here is the crucial part, straight from science: Objects subject to stress tend to become distorted or deformed. This is what will happen to you if you choose not to manage your daily quota of stress.

Exercise
 is one of the most important things you can do to combat stress. It might seem contradictory, but putting physical stress on your body through exercise can relieve mental stress and anxiety. The benefits are strongest when you exercise regularly. There are a few reasons behind this:
  • Exercise lowers your body’s stress hormones — such as cortisol — in the long run. It also helps release endorphins, which are chemicals that improve your mood and act as natural painkillers.
  • Exercise can also improve your sleep quality, which can be negatively affected by stress and anxiety.
  • Confidence: When you exercise regularly, you may feel more competent and confident in your body, which in turn promotes mental wellbeing.
Try to find an exercise routine or activity you enjoy, such as walking, dancing, rock climbing or yoga. Activities like walking or jogging — that involve repetitive movements of large muscle groups can be particularly stress relieving. Combined with healthy eating, this would set the tone for a healthier, less stressed you!
